I'm all for dynamics; "slow" gameplay with 5 minutes per turn is only good if the opponent is a Necropolis or Inferno player. After all, we're not solving equations here. Also, for template maps (medium size and larger), I suggest creating maps for 2 players that are designed for 4 players, so there are 2 easy-to-capture castles. In my opinion, the GAME WILL BECOME MUCH MORE INTERESTING – MANY NEW OPPORTUNITIES WILL APPEAR!!!...Given the rarity of utopias and spell shops, and the fact that Elves, Dwarves, and Humans are no longer 100% dominant in the late game...well, you get the idea....
Yeah, everything PROTON wrote is familiar to me, and it's called the "Ubisoft syndrome," and to overcome it, you just need to play a dozen games against serious opponents :D
