Jerks (not out of love, longing, or pity). :) They just have their own insecurities and like to take it out on others. They understand their own shortcomings and want to project them onto others, showing that there's someone worse than them. But in general, it's not worth paying attention to them; there are millions of them. And there's nothing you can do about it. In most cases, it's best to just walk away; sometimes that doesn't help – then you might end up with bruises. I especially can't stand thugs; I've run into them a couple of times, but it always worked out.
