It took a long time to break out. First, I upgraded luck, then knowledge, spell power, and dark magic; towards the end, I started logistics. I had very bad luck with development; I couldn't get dark magic level 5, and I didn't get it in 19 levels:mad:. And a level 4 spell - blindness, it's terrible. In the end, I got a mage without decent magic (thankfully, I had wisdom and phantom). I wandered around for a long time, explored almost the entire map; neither of us was in a hurry. I kept my opponent under control, and as soon as he started moving towards the center, I did the same. I gathered a couple of strong artifacts (gnome boots, dragon shield). I gradually built up my army, and along the way, I got luck to 5. I let my opponent capture a city to reduce his bonuses and attacked him right away. And he turned out to be quite the opponent, also developing dark magic and even learning unholy word). Blindness helped, of course, but berserk would have been much better!!! We fought for a long time and stubbornly (he had upgraded cavalry and swordsmen dominating, and my units were doing a little bit of everything). We reached a point where he had about 100 swordsmen + a couple of stacks of Inquisitors of 1-2 units each, and I had over 200 upgraded ghouls + about 60 upgraded golems. His hero had almost no mana, and mine still had about 100 mana. And then the game crashed at the most interesting moment:mad:.
