I think everyone here is a fan of Heroes 3. Respect to all! I also can't get enough of the game! What a game... I remember the first time I played it – a friend told me that if you dismiss monsters, they'll fly to his castle and wreck everything. I believed him and dismissed half the army. Well, it was fun afterward)
Heroes 3 differs from Heroes 5 in something elusive but very significant. Call it whatever you want, you can call it soul... Even when you just pick up an artifact, a small story is told (at first, I read them all), but in Heroes 5, it's just "you found an artifact." In Heroes 3, there are many more objects, and they have more meaning. And by the way, about the music – Rob King wrote tracks for both Heroes 3 and Heroes 5, but in Heroes 3, they sound better, maybe with one exception – the human castle. In my opinion, the most interesting voice acting is for the Fortress and Citadel castles – a hidden grandeur... All of this and many other wonderful things together make Heroes 3 my favorite!
