What skills should Necromancers take when facing Orcs on a very large map?
It seems like here they are discussing what skills a Necromancer should develop, not an Orc.
I'm too lazy to scroll through the thread, but I guess the argument started about whether or not to take the "Darkness" skill. Something like, "We took Darkness, but the Orc, acting as a spy, used it and weakened it." My conclusion is this: it's worth developing, even if you're 100% sure the Orc will use it. Berserk and Subjugation will work regardless. Yes, Cyclops won't be subjugated, but Orcs aren't just strong because of one-eyed creatures. And you should definitely add a summoning skill (I think this has already been mentioned in the thread). Two "Darkness" skills won't be effective, that's obvious. Not to mention that the attacking potential of the enemy will be reduced due to the 3-6 levels invested in "Darkness" (because instead of it, you can take Luck/Leadership/Mechanics, any of these skills in the hands of an Orc is devastating). It's a good idea to invest in Readiness if the game is long enough; Battle Fury and Resistance are almost a must-have. A good combination can be achieved by using Stone Skin from the Defense skill tree and Mass Weakness from the Darkness skill tree.
O God of Earth and Altar, Bow down and hear our cry, Our earthly rulers falter, Our people drift and die, The walls of gold entomb us, The swords of scorn divide, Take not thy thunder from us, Take away our pride.
