This is all very interesting. But here's an example from our time.
At a bus stop, behind a pavilion, two thugs were raping a girl.
None of the people standing in the pavilion did ANYTHING.
Also, at a subway station, a girl lost consciousness and fell under the last carriage of a train. Two girls passing by indifferently watched as the train started moving, then approached and curiously looked over the edge of the platform before quickly leaving.
And how many people die on the street from a heart attack, not waiting for help? Recently, they reported about one such case – because the deceased was an officer with combat awards. People walked past a decently dressed man lying helplessly on the ground.
Are we heroes only in words, or are there no heroes at the right time and in the right place?
