Chaos magic. Is it necessary?

I personally don't really like mages that much. Sure, they're powerful, but I prefer developing a Warrior. Although I can develop them well, and they turn out quite strong, they need more artifacts because their army isn't very powerful and gets easily defeated. But throwing a couple of fireballs, that's fun!
