Come on, just put yourselves in their place. What kind of life is that? Slowly crawling, lazily eating algae. And that’s it. The only joy (and also the only activity) is just… existing. My friend has a cat… he wasn’t lucky. Cruel owners cut off 2/3 of his most prized possessions. And what happened? Now he’s all apathetic. He eats and sleeps. He has a sad expression on his face all the time. He doesn’t experience any joy. He lazily moves from place to place and generally looks like a fluffy bag of fat. So, you shouldn’t be too cruel to snails; they can’t jump off a skyscraper when life isn’t enjoyable. No, well, they can jump off a nightstand, but it’s pointless when they land on the carpet.
