As far as I know, if the save file has already reached the organizer, you can no longer send a new one. I don't understand why there's such a rush to send the save files so early. After all, there are still 9 full days left! And considering that save files are made for each game day, you can easily replay from almost any point.
If your first save file didn't reach the Ghost, then you will, of course, have to send it again. In that case, you can definitely send your improved result.
P.S. The Ghost will be unavailable for a couple of days. I will try to answer questions to the best of my knowledge... And also make sure that the discussion about the tournament doesn't happen ;)

O God of Earth and Altar,
Bow down and hear our cry,
Our earthly rulers falter,
Our people drift and die,
The walls of gold entomb us,
The swords of scorn divide,
Take not thy thunder from us,
Take away our pride.
G.K. Chesterton: English Hymnal
