"Volkodav": the film and the book.

I'll share my opinion. As they said in KVN:
- What do you think is better? The movie "Volkodav" or the book?
- The book. At least it burns.
That's exactly how I feel. And the movie is just meaningless, although, apparently, the director's intention was to create something with a very deep meaning. The result is something where you can't understand absolutely anything, and there's nothing to help you understand that meaning.
Now about the book. I read it a very long time ago. And back then, I liked it because I had nothing to compare it to, and I was just a kid. Maybe nine years old, or even older. I don't remember. But now I can confidently say - it's nothing special. What's so interesting about reading about a cool, bearded guy who has no trouble taking someone down? You already know that in the end, he'll kill everyone and come out unscathed. There are supposedly some moral dilemmas, but they're very cheap and there's not a single bit of humor. If you want to read about cool guys, then read "The Witcher" - it has humor, better writing, more colorful characters, and more interesting problems. As mentioned above, I would also say - it's better to read Tolkien, although there are many flaws in his work, but as the founder of world fantasy, you can forgive him. And Volkodav is not the founder of fantasy in Russia. There were many other, much better books before it.
