It would be possible to introduce elemental affinities. For example, a castle could have four elements: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. You could recruit Fire, Water, Earth, and Air elementals, but you could also combine them. For instance, the castle could have a specialization – an incubator or a crossbreeding device. You could throw an Earth elemental and a Fire elemental into the device, and you'd get a meteorite golem. You could also combine them with other races. For example, you could throw an Earth elemental and a human in armor into the device, and you'd get a steel elemental. What do you think?
