Ashan, where is he from?

How can I love or hate Inquisitors when I'm engaged in the same craft? To be precise, I should enclose my description of Ashan in quotation marks and then add a copyright symbol, as is now fashionable, but I just can't be bothered. Is Ashan the future? It seems humanity is actually degenerating, to the point where the Mongol nation will develop long fangs, crooked faces, and clawed paws? What's the point of such racism? And with magic, it will be Arcanum, yes. But will it start to replace technology, rather than the other way around? You know, it seems much more plausible that Ashan is not Earth, but another fantasy world. A parallel one? And why must our planet necessarily feature in computer games?
