I wanted to write a long post, but after reading this, I lost the desire. We called the "territories" "knives." Planets and the like were more complex rules, and we didn't play with them often. Instead, we often played a war game in a similar way. Players would draw cities in different locations, and each player could create units – throwing knives from above, with a direct or reverse grip, from behind, etc.:), and the units would appear... tanks, infantry, an armored train (:O), an atomic bomb, etc. Then, we would move them and destroy the enemy city.
