How is Dark Messiah connected to Heroes of Might and Magic?

In 2006, two games from our beloved series will be released. They are: HOMMV and, of course, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. The storylines are interconnected, as the second part begins after the events of HOMM5. I heard somewhere that you will play as the child, Isabel, as the Dark Messiah. Perhaps there will also be old heroes who appeared in HOMM5?
