The following questions remain unclear to me:
1. Is the contest for the "best unit drawing" or the "best drawing on the theme of heroes"?
2. One or multiple drawings? How would Mephisto organize the contest if there are multiple drawings? Possible options:
* The scheme proposed by vbn.
* Several stages (i.e., one drawing participates in the "best unit" stage, another in the "best landscape" stage, etc.).
* Several drawings in one vote (i.e., drawings are submitted anonymously by each participant, and all these drawings participate in the contest, so drawings by the same participant compete against each other).
* Nominations (the organizer comes up with several nominations in advance, which a drawing can be awarded for, or the nominations will be determined directly during the viewing and evaluation of the works). Awarding nominations can also be done in several ways: a) each nomination is awarded by creating a voting thread; b) nominations are awarded directly in the thread by writing a post, for example: "in my opinion, drawing #1 deserves the "best drawing" nomination, and drawing #5 deserves the "most colorful drawing" nomination..."; c) a group of people is created, responsible for coming up with and assigning nominations (they do not participate in the contest themselves), while the rest participate only in the usual vote to determine the main nomination - "best drawing".
In principle, other, more interesting options can be proposed if any exist.
3. The duration of the contest. Several opinions and requests have been expressed regarding this. As I understand from what potential participants are writing, it is not desirable to delay the deadlines, as people want a resolution sooner, but shortening the deadlines too much is not acceptable for people who have exams/sessions coming up. Therefore, I suggest extending the contest until June 10 (i.e., participants must submit their work by this date), and if someone cannot meet the deadline, they inform the organizer, and they will be given additional time (max. - one week). But this issue depends on how many drawings are needed for participation. If it's one, then the deadlines I proposed should be more than enough; if it's 2 or 3, I can't say for sure.
So, Major has explained everything clearly and accurately, and he deserves respect for that.
Creating many polls to vote on in order to answer all these questions would be stupid and time-consuming. Therefore, I suggest that each participant write in this thread about their preferences regarding the scheme indicated by Major. It would be good if everyone did this by the end of the week so that the organizer can set clear rules in the thread.
1) I think that the best drawing on the theme of heroes is better, as it offers more room for imagination.
2) I suggest making several drawings, according to the scheme proposed by vbn.
3) Nominations should be created when viewing the drawings, not in advance.
4) Each nomination will be chosen by voting.
5) It is still impossible to say anything definite about the deadlines for the contest, and we will definitely decide this issue when all participants write in the thread, answering the questions posed by Major.
