When playing online, I don’t see any servers.

I have Vista installed, and I can't figure out what your problem is with finding the network environment. Click on the network icon in the lower right corner, then go to the Network and Sharing Center, then Manage Network Connections, and press Alt. A menu bar will appear at the top, which will have additional options. See the attached file.
