On one side were mostly journalists, and on the other were fans with flowers, posters, flags, and balloons =) We positioned ourselves near the journalists and started waiting...
The fans did their best to pass the time with chants, whistling, etc. =)
Another funny thing was that this exit wasn't blocked off, so for example, arriving "Chelsea" fans passed through this corridor to get to their buses... and our fans made a noise every time the doors opened =) (the English fans will have plenty to talk about later regarding how they were welcomed in Russia =)))
Around 13:00, word got around that our guys had finally arrived =) The fans livened up; shouts of "Russia!", "Kovalchuk", and "We are the champions" grew louder =) Cossacks in national costumes with bread and salt lined up in the middle of the corridor, a military band took their position and started playing military marches from time to time =)
About 30 minutes passed, but no one came out... Meanwhile, more people kept arriving =) Eventually, they started chanting "Russia—come out!!!", like "Light up the Christmas tree!" =)))
There was another hilarious episode when one of the fans picked a fight with the Cossacks, like "Are you Cossacks or not? Maybe sing something of your own, some folk songs?", but the Cossacks didn't miss a beat and launched into a spirited song accompanied by an accordion, for which they received thunderous applause from several hundred people =)
About forty minutes after landing, the hockey players finally came out =)
First out were Morozov with the cup, Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, and Tretiak...
I can't describe what happened then! You could go deaf from the welcoming roar of excitement =) After tasting the bread and salt, Ovechkin, kissing his medal, walked to the bus, followed by Kovalchuk, Morozov, and Radulov... Journalists rushed after them to take photos of the cup... and after that, the cops seemed to vanish... or rather they were there, but the corridor disappeared =) The rest of our hockey players had to push through the crowd, giving autographs and interviews along the way, posing for photographers =)
I wanted to take photos, but because of all this commotion, there was no chance to get good shots =( so I filmed a video, which managed to capture all this bacchanalia and our champions, specifically: Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Morozov, Radulov, Semin, Afinogenov, Nikulin, Kalinin, Tereshchenko, Eremenko, Mozyakin, Proshkin, Zaripov, Zinoviev, Fedorov, Tretiak, D. Markov, Vorobiev, Zvyagin... maybe I forgot to name someone else =)
(By the way, I didn't notice Bykov; he probably slipped through by some side route)))
To be fair, it should be noted that our entire team reached the bus safely and weren't particularly bothered by being surrounded by so many people =) And the people, in principle, behaved reasonably: everyone, of course, wanted an autograph or at least to touch our stars and medals, take a few photos for memory, but all this was within limits, without any real chaos =)
In the end, the hockey players boarded the bus and, accompanied by the same cheers from fans and sounds of the orchestra, left for the Kremlin, where they met with "Medvezhonok" =) But I wasn't there anymore, so I can't tell you anything about that =)
