The army teaches you. Is that what you know based on someone's words? Many say that it teaches you not because they believe it, but simply because they don't want to understand that they served, while others won't. Therefore, it's easier to consider them cowards and not real men. Of course, I'm not talking about anyone present here. Personally, I don't aspire to go there – I don't want to lose a year of my life, end up under the control of older conscripts (because of them, you can become a real monster – in many cases, it's just simple psychology: "I'm a senior now, I was bullied, so why shouldn't I do the same? I will! And I'll do it even worse!"). I won't lose anything by not doing this because I can get the same experience from training and going to the shooting range. Except that I won't be disciplined. However, that's not something anyone would expect from me anyway. But, in my opinion, serving under contract is a different matter. If a person is drawn to this kind of service, then that's even great! Our army relies on such people. Or, in the case of a general mobilization (I hope this will never be necessary), then it's a matter of honor to defend your country and your loved ones, even if you're not a fervent patriot.
