A similar situation happened to me, but I was playing as Necropolis. They took all my castles and killed half of my skeletons. In desperation, I went into the Utopia with 200 skeletons and 20+ spearmen. It turned out to be the minimum requirement. I came out with 60-70 skeletons. The stats were around 15-8 attack/defense, expert in attack and defense, expert in shield, stone skin, and advanced bloodlust. I lost that game, but I captured the Utopia on principle. I also remember that I received a bag of gold for my feat in the Utopia. :(
