Regarding the "box," I can say one thing: we had something similar back in the USSR (according to my sources). In modern Russia, this practice is prosecuted by law as a criminal offense, and those who engage in it face a significant prison sentence. So, it exists, but it's been banned – and anyone who violates the law will face consequences.
