Yes, I agree, elven archers are great; if there are many of them, they can overwhelm everyone, but they have 0 defense. I would put Dancing with Death on their defense.

But the best defense for elven archers is Ents. Then the archers will be unreachable for enemy cavalry and infantry. By the time you break through the Ents, there will be no one left for the archers to shoot at.
