Once, the knights failed to conquer Rus', which means it existed. In its time, the Golden Horde had the most disciplined and combat-ready army. They even reached Rome. The Mongols simply shot down the knights with bows, without engaging in hand-to-hand combat. The heavily armored knights were unable to catch up with them.
