With the old database system, I at least saw that many people liked them, and that was a kind of motivation. Now I don't even see if anyone reads them at all, and accordingly, why bother writing them?!!
Click the "Control Panel" button, and you will have information about these "ticks" right in front of you. Something like Username-Database Rating Decrease/Increase-Link to Message for which the database rating was increased.
The biggest advantage of all these innovations is that the "herd effect" is eliminated, and, in my opinion, there will now be much less chatter on the topic of "why are you doing this, I thought better of you, don't attack without reason, look at yourself."
And the value of this "little bird" has increased: now you can't just scroll with the mouse and casually click pluses and minuses while in a state of suspended animation: you have to put in a little effort.
The downside is the traffic to pop-up windows and the hassle when connecting from a mobile device.
But overall, it's not bad, I like it. At least it doesn't hurt my eyes.
