I was learning to play as the Barbarians (my first serious game with them) - it went pretty well, but I was a little unlucky and made a mistake in the final battle, which I could have won.
In the first week, I build levels 1-3, 5, and 7 with the Castle. I take a second city - Rampart, and build Elves there. I saw 2 nests on the cliff and 1 monster lair. In the tavern, Bron arrived with 7 Basilisks - they helped a lot.
At the beginning of the second week, I take boots +1 strength, magic, and knowledge, a pit of Imps, a Medusa hoard, the first nest, then a sword +3, and another Medusa hoard. Gurnisson, meanwhile, travels around the Rampart territory with 1 movement and a ballista, and finds Utopia. He attacks the capital, gets troops, and takes the second nest and monster lair. Ogres are built in the capital.
At the beginning of the 3rd week, I take the Naga bank and run to Utopia, Bron gets the Armor of Wonder. On day 134, I take Utopia with 8 Gargoyles, 27 Thunderbirds, 12 Ogres, 5 Basilisks, and several Goblins, with stats 13/4. In the battle with 2 Black Dragons, 3 Gargoyles and 1 Thunderbird died, and I received the Book of Fire, the Sword of Justice, and a crown +4 as a reward. I decided to go through the Main Guard to my opponent. I didn't upgrade the Gargoyles because I didn't have enough crystals, so instead, I bought Dwarves, Elves, and Centaurs. I made a slight mistake - I didn't notice a well near the Castle and lost 1 turn, restoring mana. On day 136, I stand next to a flock of Phoenixes. On day 137, I kill them; it turned out that they were unexpectedly strong, and there were about 19 of them. I lost all the Dwarves, Centaurs, Wyverns (4 - I took them along the way at a Hive), and Hobgoblins, as well as a couple of Thunderbirds. I have 24 Thunderbirds, 5 Gargoyles, 21 Great Elves, and 28 Orcish Leaders left. As usual, I'm a few squares short of the capital, and on the next turn, Andra attacks me with 1 Angel, 11 Champions, 66 Archers, 6 Wyverns, 23 Cow Gryphons, and some other units.
In the first round, I used Berserk on the Thunderbirds and Orcs; the Thunderbirds kill the Orcs. Gryphons and Champions protect the Archers. After that, I should have won - waiting for the Elves, then, when their turn came back (the Archers couldn't kill them), Armageddon. The second round would have started - and again, Armageddon. In total, I would have dealt 1260 damage to all units, killing everyone except 3 Thunderbirds, including Andra. Instead, I do something stupid - I use Inferno on the Angel and finish him off with Elves:confused: And in the second round, I get an explosion on the Thunderbirds, after which I lost. Then there were no more chances - I saw that Andra was taking Utopia, and I had nowhere to go, and Gurnisson's speed left much to be desired. I tried to go to another city on the grass - I was hoping for a Conflux, where I could hire Fire Elementals, Magma Elementals, and Firebirds with immunity to Armageddon, but it turned out to be a Castle. I tried to go to my opponent's Conflux, but he had a mass speed spell, and I didn't take an army with me - 6 units of 1 Battle Golem and 3 Thunderbirds...
