I agree with you, archers are one of those units that you need to focus on... In battle, their attack is very effective, and another plus is that they can be numerous... In my opinion, the second unit that you need to focus on is the Ent... After all, ents are quite strong, and their attack is powerful... moreover, you shouldn't forget about the symbiosis of ents with nymphs (a very useful ability)... Unicorns, Wind Riders, and Dragons are quite effective for attacking, and in general, I think that you shouldn't defend with elves in battle, because their units are specialized in attack and are the most proactive in this game...
