It’s perfectly normal for a Vampire to wield a sword. It’s a standard, effective weapon. It’s literally understood that Vampires need to drink blood to sustain themselves. In reality, they need to inflict pain in order to gain the ability to consume life energy. A sword is suitable for this purpose.
