Which faction is the most interesting to play as, and what strategy do you find most engaging?

If your friend hadn't waited for epic battles and had instead finished you off earlier, he would have won. But now, it's his own fault. He let you develop.

Of course, I agree that starting with the Undead is difficult. I had an unpleasant experience when the AI, on the highest difficulty, simply wiped out my raised undead units with human troops – and I felt quite helpless at the time:smile22:. Well, I managed to win the map overall, albeit with some difficulty.

When playing as Orcs at the start, I lose all my archers. I think it's possible not to lose units, but the start will be slow and not as fast as I would like:smile44:.

I've already written somewhere that I love playing as the Elves, but I can play as anyone. And I won't belittle the Elves either!

Actually, I don't belittle them either; I just don't like playing as them, I find it uninteresting, but overall, it's a pretty strong race. I would even say it's for those who like to win and don't want to strain themselves with complex strategies.
