Afinogenov will replace Zaripov in the match against Denmark

In the last match of the group stage against the Danish national team, there will be a change in the fourth line: Buffalo forward Maxim Afinogenov will play instead of Ak Bars forward Denis Zaripov, according to the official website of the Russian Hockey Federation.
Thus, Afinogenov will play together with Alexander Radulov and Alexei Tereshchenko.

Nabokov, Markov and Tyutin will perform at the World Championship!

Three more representatives of NHL clubs – goalkeeper Evgeny Nabokov ("San Jose"), defenders Andrei Markov ("Montreal") and Fedor Tyutin ("Rangers") – will play for the Russian national team at the World Championship! Nabokov will arrive in Quebec on May 8, Tyutin – today, and Markov has already arrived at the team.

Last night, after the end of the playoff series match, in which San Jose lost in the fourth overtime to Dallas and ended the season, Nabokov himself called the President of the Russian Hockey Federation, Vladislav Tretyak, who had previously communicated with the goalkeeper several times, and once again confirmed his participation in the World Championship. Then, the head of the Russian Hockey Federation and the goalkeeper, after consulting with the coaching staff of the national team, decided that Evgeny would arrive on Thursday, and he was immediately issued an air ticket on the San Jose – Quebec route.

Nabokov, Markov and Tyutin, in accordance with the regulations of the world championship, will be included in the application before the start of the qualifying round.

Thus, those currently in the team, but not included in the application for the preliminary stage, Kazan Ak Bars defender Evgeny Medvedev and Moscow Dynamo forward Fedor Fedorov will not be able to perform at this World Championship. Because with Markov and Tyutin, there are already 22 field players, that is, a full set.

As for the goalkeeping line, Nabokov will take the remaining, third vacancy. Today, goalkeeper Sergei Zvyagin, who lives with his family in Detroit, joined the team. He has twice – in 2005 and 2006 – performed at world championships. This season, Zvyagin played for Dynamo and Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo. Sergei was invited to optimally conduct the training process, as for now, only one healthy goalkeeper remains at the disposal of the national team coaches…

Depending on the rehabilitation process of Alexander Yeremenko, the possibility of adding Zvyagin to the roster is not ruled out. The regulations of the World Championship provide for such an option in case of injury to one of the three declared goalkeepers during the tournament.

Where do you get the statistics for goals scored? I watched the match against Italy and immediately didn't believe that Afinogenov managed to record four assists. I went to the IIHF website, and only one is listed there.
