The whole point about the "disappearance of humanity" is explained by the fact that:
a) There are NO habitable and nearby planets.
b) As far as I know, there will soon be problems with natural resources.
c) Possible global warming.
d) Problems with feeding all this crowd (6 billion, it seems).
e) If they are fed, it will be with genetically modified food (there is a lot of it and it is cheap), and in the future, reproductive functions will cease after 3-4 generations.
