Assassin`s Creed

I bought the collector's edition of this game today... I'll start by sharing my thoughts on the set itself.

Inside the beautiful glossy box, the first thing I noticed was the game box, naturally... And what did I see? A cheap double DVD box, the kind usually used to package pirated copies. Hmm... They definitely skimped on that. Inside the box, I found 2 discs (the game itself and the developer's diary). I'm about to install the game and I see that the disc is covered in a few, but rather large, scratches. To be honest, I was initially scared, thinking that this would lead to problems with the disc not working and everything that follows, but it seems everything worked out (nevertheless, my opinion of Akella has significantly decreased). In addition, there was a so-called "Amulet of the Secret Order of Assassins" in the DVD box. I didn't expect much from it, and my expectations were confirmed. It's just an ordinary trinket; if you really want to wear an amulet around your neck, you can buy something more impressive and beautiful. And expensive. But I found a use for it. As a keychain. While the game was installing, I was sorting through the "paperwork" that was in the box. The user manual isn't anything special. The ones that come in game boxes from EA are clearly more solid and generally more pleasant. Although, the latter are more expensive. And finally, there's the "illustrated history of the Order," a thick book made of fairly dense glossy paper, which contains many pictures, as well as the history of the Order. There are no complaints here, neither about the quality nor the content. I haven't even started the developer's diary yet (by the way, unlike the game disc, it's in perfect condition); I'll probably only watch it when I finish the game itself. Well, the moment of truth has arrived, and I launched the game :) I played for a while... I didn't have to get used to it, because I borrowed a pirated copy from a friend as a demo version not long ago, and I already easily completed the tutorial and the first 2 memory blocks. I finished it recently when I decided to collect all the Assassin flags. I don't know what they're for, but finding them all isn't that difficult, as there are relatively few. Nevertheless, I spent a considerable amount of time on it. And when I found all 20, I felt cheated... Because I didn't get anything at all, except for a "consoling" message, like "memory restored." The question is, what are they for? And searching for a hundred flags in each city is an absolutely pointless exercise, no matter what it costs. I thought maybe they would show some kind of pictures (something similar was in Prince of Persia), but I got... Maybe I'm missing something; enlighten me, oh connoisseurs of this game.

De facto, this is the first collector's edition that I bought. For which I overpaid twice as much compared to the Jewel case version. It's not that I'm dissatisfied... But what I got clearly isn't worth that much of an overpayment. I think this disc will be the last collector's edition that I buy...
