Darkness or Light? Philosophy in Knights of the Old Republic.

KotOR 1 is not optimized for a playthrough focused on the Dark Side – in fact, almost all your allies, except for HK-47 and Canderous, have a significantly greater affinity for the light, and if the first part had an influence system like the second, the light-side choice would be the primary one in most cases...
And I don't quite like the ending for the Dark Side... of course, there's power, a fleet... but it all seems a bit overblown... isn't there some hint of cunning or individuality... It's almost as banal as the 3rd episode... aka Palpatine in a robe and his personal Vader... against the backdrop of a "not quite round Death Star" and a "fleet of fear."
