Tactics for Rampart.

There is no universally best Castle. You can win with any. It all depends on the player and the map. The balance in the game is good, and on random maps, it is maintained by the fact that today you might get a bad starting location, and tomorrow a good one. And it depends on the player how they use this starting location.

I don't quite agree. The Castle and Rampart usually have the best starting locations.
And if you're not playing on very large maps, the Rampart with Elves (which provide fairly rapid early development) can rush much faster than the others. Therefore, with equal strength of opponents, this factor can become decisive, and if one player is significantly stronger than the other, it is clear that the stronger player will win with any Castle against a weaker one.
