Well, it's clear that the two leaders are: Nagas and Dark Knights. Both have good movement. Decent health. Dark Knights have a slight edge in attack + an additional double strike ability. Nagas can't boast any of that. Therefore, Dark Knights are better. However, the Naga comes with a morale bonus (Necropolis is not welcome in other castles).
