Now, my counter-arguments:
a) From your words, it follows that finding a girlfriend, etc., is a task for an excellent student, but this is far from the truth. What other things does a mediocre student spend their time on? It's good if they spend it on sports, but usually, they spend it on drinking alcohol.
b) A boring, excellent student doesn't have fewer friends – at least, the same mediocre students whom he lets copy his work.
c) I completely agree. An excellent student is raised like in a greenhouse, which often leads to the opposite result.

P.S. And Joy De Maio (bassist of Manowar) said that real men, like Brecht and Wolf, are made for three things:
1) Drinking beer
2) Making metal
3) Censorship won't allow it, but you get the idea.
Of these things, an excellent student can only make metal and the third thing. A mediocre student can't do any of them because mediocre students usually listen to R&B and drum and bass, and they have problems with the third thing because an excellent student clearly knows how to protect himself, while a mediocre student doesn't always.
