Resources at the start of the day: 20 logs, 41 ore, 15 mercury, 19 sulfur, 10 crystals, 8 gems, 9000 gold.
1) Tyro clears the upper part of the eastern section of the respawn (see Figure 3).
Gold +900, artifact – “four-leaf clover”, chest +2000 gold; ignoring the campfire and ore, he moves toward the archers with the simple goal of fleeing if attacked.
2) Rasmont runs for campfire K1 (see Figure 1), but doesn't reach it and falls asleep 1 step away from it.
3) Aria's moves are only enough to pick up a campfire +500 gold + 5 gems (K3) and + 14 ore (O1) in the desert with numerous penalties (see Figure 1); however, this was her primary task anyway.
4) Since Castor has nothing much to do today, he collects unnecessary resources: +15 wood (W3), + 10 wood (W4) (see Figure 2), and takes a rest one step from the castle “Xabran” (even though moves are still available)!
5) Falagar clears the western part of the respawn (see Figure 2):
Chest (S2) +2000 gold, ore +14, campfire (K1) +400 gold and +4 mercury.
6) Atlas collects numerous resources in the northeastern part of the neutral territory (see Figure 5):
+5 gems, +3 crystals, campfire +500 gold and 5 mercury! Sleeps 4 steps away from gold G3.
7) Antony, with fresh strength and leaving 7 gorgons in the castle, increases his experience by +1500 (attack +1) by taking the nearest chest S1 in the main part of the Comp's territory (Figure 4) and attacks the comp hero Yog, from whom he BUYS HIS WAY OUT in the very first round!
8) Acting within the rules, we buy Antony out (with 1 gorgon) on the same day in the castle “Xabran”, where the much-needed magic is being intensively built every day, but we do not move him, as we know he can only be moved the next day!
9) Hero Whisper stands rooted to the spot, taking absolutely no action, lest he scare off the comp.
10) In the glorious castle “Xabran”, we erect level 3 magic!
Resources at the end of the day: 40 logs, 64 ore, 18 mercury, 13 sulfur, 7 crystals, 12 gems, 11200 gold.
Note: During the turn transition, the comp heroes run toward the captured castle “Pine Hill”, still naively assuming it can be retaken.
But none of them reach it and all spend the night one day away from it!
Resources at the start of the day: 40 logs, 64 ore, 18 mercury, 13 sulfur, 7 crystals, 12 gems, 15950 gold.
1) We do a "maz dai" to Falagar, who has nothing left to do on this land; we kill him on the nomads!
2) Antony takes 1 step down, clearing access to the castle for other heroes!
3) Rasmont takes campfire K1 (+400 gold, +4 crystals) and enters Castle “Xabran”!
4) In the glorious castle Xabran, we erect level 4 magic!
5) Having learned the “Portal” magic, Rasmont makes 1 jump to the artifact “great scroll of knowledge”, which he takes without hindrance, bypassing fights with the ogres guarding it; he makes a second jump back to the castle, handing the valuable artifact to Antony. He does not spend his last step yet!
6) Castor enters Castle “Xabran”, learns the “Portal” magic and flies to the western part of the respawn for resources (see Figure 2), having first taken 4 steps in a straight line from the castle:
first flight: campfire (K4) brings +500 gold and 5 crystals,
second flight: artifact “Bottomless Purse” (+500 gold per day), crystal mine.
7) Atlas, suffering from gold fever, feverishly collects gold in the northeastern part of the neutral territory (see Figure 5):
G3 +600 gold, G2 +800 gold. Falls asleep 3 steps from G1.
8) In the glorious castle “Xabran”, we hire Sorceress Astra with an initial army of 3 dwarves and 14 fairies!
Leaving the dwarves in the castle garrison, Astra flies to the western side of the Respawn using “Portal” magic. She spends 1 flight and falls asleep 6 steps from the wolves.
9) Antony enters Castle “Xabran”, learns all the magic and sets off on a long flight for the “Dragon Sword” to the neutral territory in its northeastern part (see Figure 5). Using 3 flights to the menhir and 2 after, Antony ends up right at the coveted artifact, which he takes (for 2000 gold), increasing his attack by 3 units! Having a few steps left, he purposefully freezes (waiting for his hour X)…
10) It is now time to do "maz dai" to hero Aria, also on the nomads.
11) In Castle “Pine Hill”, Knight Lord Kilburn is hired with an initial army of 5 archers and 49 peasants! He takes 1 step down.
12) Hour X has come, and Antony attacks the djinns, fleeing in the first round!
13) In Castle “Pine Hill”, we buy out Antony (with an initial force of 5 orcs and 22 goblins) on the same day, but do not move him, i.e., acting strictly within the rules!
Note – when a hero flees, the initial army is generated randomly each time; therefore, it took a few load/saves to get Antony 5 orcs (goblins don't count)!
We transfer 7 gorgons from the castle garrison to Antony.
14) Lord Kilburn takes all of Antony's force except for the gorgons and runs to exchange with Whisper.
15) Whisper leaves only 22 greens (goblins) to Lord Kilburn, and himself moves slightly down the passage to lure all comp heroes toward Antony, but stops within reach of 1 game day from the Lord!
16) Rasmont enters the glorious castle “Xabran” with his last step, where he studies magic and spends the night!
17) Tyro, as previously intended, attacks the archers and immediately flees.
Resources at the end of the day: 35 logs, 59 ore, 8 mercury, 3 sulfur, 6 crystals, 2 gems, 7750 gold.
Note: During the turn transition, as planned, the comp heroes logically attack Antony and die one by one. The battle tactic is identical to the one used by this same composition 2 days ago, i.e., during the transition from day 4 to 5.
First attacks Kelzen with 10 wolves and 5 goblins:
After victory, Antony receives trophies in the form of:
Traveler's Boots, as well as 715 experience (attack +1);
Second attacks Tsabu with 10 wolves and 40 goblins:
After victory, Antony receives trophies in the form of:
Medal of Valor, as well as 820 experience;
Third attacks Yog with 10 wolves and 20 goblins:
After victory, Antony receives trophies in the form of:
Axe of Power, as well as 760 experience (attack +1);
Last attacks Ergon with 10 wolves and 43 goblins:
After victory, Antony receives trophies in the form of:
Medal of Courage, Thunder Mace, as well as 829 experience.
Resources at the start of the day: 35 logs, 59 ore, 8 mercury, 3 sulfur, 7 crystals, 2 gems, 13000 gold.
The very illogical actions of heroes Astra and Rasmont prevented adding another 1500 gold to the treasury, a pity…
Carelessness led to the fact that the 2 hired Barbarian heroes turned out to be completely unnecessary with their army left in the garrison of Castle “Pine Hill”, meaning they were simply bought for nothing (Optional points are highlighted in italics below).
1) Astra clears the remaining resources in the west of the respawn (see Figure 2), but unfortunately not all, although moves were more than enough. For some reason, she leaves some of them for Rasmont, even though he could have easily reached chest S4.
Gold +800 (G1), +6 mercury, captures a gem mine?!
2) Instead of flying for chest S4, Rasmont flies after Astra, collecting the remaining resources guarded by wolves:
Campfire K2 (+600 gold, +6 crystals), chest S1 (+1000 gold).
3) Castor clears the territory:
+500 gold (G2), campfire (K4) +400 gold, +4 crystals.
3) Atlas collects the last portion of gold (G1), enriching the kingdom by 600 ounces.
4) Antony takes 1 step to the right, exiting the castle.
5) In Castle “Pine Hill”, our good old friend Tyro is hired with an initial army of 5 archers +32 peasants; he buys 9 trolls and all (12) orcs in the castle! He also exits the castle one cell down.
6) Whisper transfers all his force to Lord Kilburn, except for the peasants, and then resigns!
7) In Castle “Pine Hill”, Yog is hired with an initial army of 5 orcs, 17 goblins (within the rules, comp heroes can be hired if they have no artifacts and their level is above first). Leaving all force except for 1 goblin in the castle garrison, Yog takes a nearby chest (S2) and replenishes the kingdom by another 1000 gold; his last steps are spent capturing an absolutely useless ore mine.
8) Hero Atlas resigns.
9) In Castle “Pine Hill”, Crag Hag is hired with an initial army of 4 orcs, 24 goblins (within the rules, comp heroes can be hired if they have no artifacts and their level is above first). Leaving all force except for 1 goblin in the castle garrison,
Crag Hag has nothing left to do but take another useless ore mine.
10) Astra resigns.
11) In Castle “Pine Hill”, Warlock Sandro is hired with an initial army of 3 gorgons, 8 centaurs.
12) The hour of the Great Exchange has come (see Figure 6).
- Lord Kilburn transfers all force, namely 5 archers, 5 orcs, 47 centaurs, 64 goblins, Tyro.
- Sandro takes all goblins from Tyro, gives him 8 centaurs, 3 gorgons.
(A very annoying moment!!! For some reason, Sandro completely forgets about the 9 orcs in the castle garrison!!!);
- Tyro transfers all force + artifact “four-leaf clover” to Antony.
13) Antony with a force of 10 gorgons, 10 archers, 9 trolls, 17 orcs (it could have been as many as 26! Consequently, the need and sense in points 7) and 9) completely vanished), moving toward Castle “Slayer”, visits a gazebo (+1000 experience) and kills without losses 50 thieves guarding the artifact “lucky coin”.
14) Antony spends the remaining 2 flights advancing toward his main goal – Castle “Slayer”!
The remaining moves are more than enough to reach the specified castle.
Antony's artifacts: “Nomad's Boots”, “scroll of higher knowledge”, “bottomless purse”, “dragon sword”, “traveler's boots”, “medal of valor”, “great scroll of knowledge”, “axe of power”, “medal of courage”, “thunder mace”, “clover”, “coin”.

Figures 9 and 10 show the great victories at the end of the battle, as described during writing and as played respectively.
Losses: 27 centaurs, 10 orcs, 9 trolls (when writing description), 29 centaurs, 9 trolls (when playing for walkthrough).
Antony gains 3460 experience (attack+2) and wins the scenario!
Note – this battle can be won even without luck and morale triggers with this composition, but with heavy losses, and vice versa!
Victory occurs on day 7.
Primary hero stats including equipped artifacts after final battle: attack +14, defense +3, spell power +1, knowledge +9 (total 27).
Mercury: 14.
Note - Maximum possible achievements on the map from starting save:
6 days, sum of stats: 31-32, Mercury 16.
P.S. Well, I shouldn't have abandoned the strategy of building up the starting castle and developing a Warlock (or Sorceress) as the main hero; that's what I paid for:(
P.S.S. The description took 3 times longer than the walkthrough itself:eek:
Z.Y. Barbarians still rule:smile03:
