Only today I was able to get on the forum, so it's a bit delayed, but we agreed to leave it here too... :-)
Dust (Sorca, Barbarian) def Catch (Necro, idk) Magician battle 1 4 1
We had a cool time relaxing on the weekend! We wanted to do it again on those days, but only managed it this Friday. :-) Catch suggested playing on his map, which he had drawn a long time ago. I, of course, gladly agreed, because it's interesting to try something new — one, the old ones got boring — two, and I also wanted to see Catch's work of art — three! ;-)
On Friday, we were in the most online-ish mood possible. I decided to boost it further with some doping, which I informed Dust about. He didn't object; moreover, sometime around the second week, he also went for it, so we ended up on equal footing.
We played for fun and to test the map. Dust didn't want to post a report, but I insisted :smile01:
About the game. My start was more fortunate in terms of resources. I had Liches up by the 4th day. But I didn't get Skeletons on the first week, which essentially decided the outcome of the match. I was short on gold, although (!) on the 7th day, I saw that I hadn't checked under the mushroom and didn't pick up [resources]. Also, I didn't take the Water Mill from the orcs. After visiting them and exchanging resources, it should have been just enough. So instead of Skeletons, I built Vampires. On the 8th day, I upgraded them and went looking for fortune abroad. One passage was blocked by Red Dragons, so I decided not to go there. But the Hydras turned out to be a match for my bloodsuckers. However, I was apparently too hasty. I should have broken through the barrier with the Medusas and taken the resources. I didn't do that, which later affected my financial state (only got the Capitol on the third week).
From the computer's [neutral] camps, I got nothing but shame. I fought battles with neutrals like a noob, constantly losing either a Lich or a Vampire. Well, then the mage attacked my vanguard with a Colossus (150); it was probably [cast] Ice Bolt. I had to pay a ransom. Towards the end, knowing that Dust had Phoenixes from his second town, out of desperation I attacked Dust's scout hero with the meat [army] intended for the GG (I had a Necromancer, but I never managed to dig up the Barbarian in the first town, and he showed up in the second, but by then I already had a decent Necromancer, although not a single artifact for stats), attacking Dust's scout hero. The scout hero died, but mine also met his end on the next turn. After that, seeing Dust's Terminator in the flesh and looking sadly at my half-empty wallet (and all Necromancer units are damn expensive...), I decided to admit my defeat.
All in all, we had a pretty good time. I hope the upcoming weekend will be no less fun :)
