Agreed. Wing's start will be worse than that of a whole number of heroes.
Ossir - because of starting archers
Dirael - because of the Swarm
Talanar - Ballista. Even without the skill, it helps. Plus, a fast path to Haste Aura.
Ilfina - Unicorn and tent.

Fortunately, the Dryads' initiative allows you to stand in the right place in time. And BDP will rule there.
