Heh-heh, I'll probably start by saying what I expected from it, and I expected it to be hardcore (with 4-5 days spent on a single assassination) and a realistic life simulator for an assassin. Based on what was shown at Leipzig and in interviews, I thought that's what it would be, but alas, there's no hardcore element here. The game can be completed in 8 hours, which is typical for any modern game.
Cool combat system? Nah, what's so cool about it? It's beautiful, I'll give you that, but with the so-called "revenge kill," you can take down an army of 50-60 people, and while one person is attacking, the rest just stand there with angry faces, waiting their turn.
The preparation for the assassination is terrible. I hoped that it would involve subtle interactions with NPCs, walking around the city, eavesdropping, and sneaking into the darkest corners to steal information about the target. I thought this process would take a long time, but what happened? It turned into climbing towers and collecting flags.
It's scary to continue. What is there to love about this game? Well, there is one thing, one very interesting feature, that makes it possible to forgive half of its flaws, and that feature is called atmosphere (the game's atmosphere, not the weather, xD). Remember what was written before the game started? Exactly! This game was developed by a multicultural team (they have a good producer), and most importantly, it was made with soul, and there aren't many games like that (only Kingdom Come: Deliverance comes to mind). You don't play this game like you play other games; you have to immerse yourself in it. The developers didn't skimp on creating the world, and they put a lot of effort into completely useless intermediate spaces. If they had moved the game back by two years and made the gameplay normal, it could have been an excellent game, but for now, it's a tour of the ancient East with the possibility of assassination and a great story, at least that's how I see it
