1. I couldn't figure out how to capture Rovenar on day 7.

Only with Craig, only with logistics and a stable, and only if you spend the night before the dragons with wolves on day 6 – it doesn't matter whether you attack them directly or diagonally.
I wrote about this experience specifically: in my opinion (I checked it with cheats), Craig doesn't get logistics any other way. Either he flies past the lake, or he doesn't arrive at the tavern on time – it just doesn't work out.

2. In the mercenary camp, they gave me dendroids (near the harpies).

They gave me all sorts of things. The random generator is great.

3. I think the idea of firing orcs and goblins at the beginning of the game is great.
4. Upgrading wolves in Dragonbridge is also a good idea.

This is all related to logistics for Craig.

I also thought about going through the wyvern lair past the outer tavern, but then there isn't enough of the fired logistics expert to capture both Strongholds in one day. And the dragons tear the wyverns apart without the lake...
