What kind of music do fans of Heroes of Might and Magic like? (music genres)

Well then. I'll have my say too. Although Wolf and I agree on many things, there are plenty of points where we diverge. I'll justify my stance. In order. Here is my imho. Let's go.
Krylya — yes, undoubtedly. They belong to Catharsis. However, I don't consider them the most technical band in Russia at all. The vocals didn't grab me at all, and I like Samosvat's vocals much more. Although Pavel Okunev's vocals (early Epidemia soloist) are worse because I don't like them at all. Samosvat's voice, however, fits the style and performance manner of his band very well. What their lead guitarist plays didn't grab me in the slightest. They don't have any catchy solos! (Reminder that this is my imho). I like Holstinin much more. Rhythm guitar? So-so. In Krylya, the rhythm is just pathetic. So much so that even I could play it. I can't say anything about the drummer and the keyboardist because I mostly listen to the guitar. The keys somehow bypassed my ears, which isn't very flattering for the band, because for example, in Children of Bodom, the keys are very prominent. And the drummer... Well, he doesn't seem to ruin anything, and he double- basses correctly. He fits the style. I don't require anything more from him.
Cradles... Well, I won't say much... I haven't listened to them much. And I don't know much about black metal. But even I know that Cradle and Dimmu Borgir are the gold standard of black metal. That's simply why they are high quality. (This is, of course, not a refutation of Wolf's post, but rather an agreement with him on this point). Moonspell? You can hit me over the head, but it's the first time I've heard of them.
Aria... Now we've come to my favorite band. I won't argue with Wolf about Aria being a project for making money. I agree, that's exactly what it is. Only it's long since ceased to be the Aria that I love. Aria existed until 1999 (if I'm not mistaken), when the album "Generator of Evil" was released, and then the band split into the new Aria and Kipelov. Neither reaches the old level, back when Aria performed songs with meaning, and not this idiocy like "Armageddon". Yes. This band has exhausted itself and has long since lost the charisma it once had. And it's not a sin to make some money in such a situation. That's why they took Epidemia under their wing. Moreover, this band has very good musicians and good songs. I won't even agree with Wolf regarding the first manuscript and life in the twilight. Both are quite catchy. But the second part of the elven manuscript... Yeah... In short, they don't even hide that they want to rake in as much cash as possible, because there is absolutely nothing there except the well-known name of the band. Any sophisticated listener would just pass by these songs if they hadn't heard the loud name. There is no music there, no interesting plot, nothing there.
Meanwhile, I'll write my opinion on the styles Wolf mentioned.
Alt — in my view, just a direction in music specifically for people who don't understand the roots and what heavy music should be, but at the same time want to say they listen to heavy stuff rather than pop, electronics, or rap. I have a whole mountain of other grievances with this music, but I can't voice them for reasons of propriety or simply because I don't know how to formulate the thought. In general, here is an example. I think those forum members who listen to alternative know the band Slot. Well. This band covered Aria's song "Street of Roses". A legendary song. One of their greatest songs. And what's the result? Damn it, I got the impression that this woman with the microphone shouldn't be singing at all, those monstrosities with the instruments should have them taken away and returned to the stores where their rich daddies bought them, and to sing someone else's song, this damn Slot needs to listen to it first!!!
Nu metal?! What the hell kind of metal is that!? It's a sugary, nauseating, disgusting mixture of pop-rock and pop, in which electric guitars simply participate and that's why it was called metal, and it was also called that for the same reasons I mentioned about alternative — because it's TRENDY METAL!!! Which is absurd in itself! It's not metal. I don't understand for the life of me why they took such a name for the style. Typical pop.
Metalcore? Uh... Is that a mixture of rap and heavy stuff? Or am I wrong? I haven't listened to this style. But if I'm not mistaken, it's just some kind of perversion — mixing two styles that are opposite in music, lyrics, and philosophy, and after seeing what came out of it, continuing to perform it! It's nauseating to listen to.
Although, I must agree that metal itself is dying out. There are no high-quality, well-known bands in Russia now. And abroad, only old-timers. Although it's better there. Much better. There are still many strong bands there. I probably overreacted... Metal is dying in Russia because nobody needs it. Everyone is satisfied with RnB, trance, and pop. And talents? Who needs them? Nowadays it's enough to just have rich parents and grease the producer — a spot on stage is guaranteed.
There it is — my imho. You can throw the minuses at me, perhaps I've disappointed some with my opinion, but that's how it is, and it won't change. For I consider music one of the main spheres of society. As for disagreement... Well. It happens that people don't agree in their opinions.
