Moreover, many sign up and then simply ignore the tournaments... There are plenty of examples...
We need to play more, we need to play better! And it's better if tournaments are joint with other portals, so that we can compare our strength before starting to boast! "We're the coolest!" — No, we're not that cool at all. The fact that we win something here is our achievement right HERE! When we start winning something in inter-portal tournaments, then we'll have something to talk about! As it is, we're just making fools of ourselves!

You have good players here, why belittle yourselves? And there are plenty of examples. For instance, the joint tournament for collecting ghosts in HoMM2 was won by SDV — a representative of HeroesWorld. DmitriyAS — your representative — has been playing on HP recently. And few can match him, and if you also take his friend Radik, that's a downright deadly combo. And if your monsters aren't in first place in some tournaments, that doesn't mean anything — it's impossible to win every time. Besides, it's unclear by what criteria one determines who belongs to which portal. Many play both here and there, so...
