The start was rather unfortunate - there was almost no unguarded gold, so in the first week I was only able to build the first four levels with a citadel. I found two troglodyte dwellings and three whole conservatories near the capital! Two of them turned out to have two angels each; I took those at the beginning of the third week.
At the start of the second week, I surfaced, captured a second town - Conflux, found enough money to build six levels with a castle in the capital.
At the very end of the second week, a hero with one medusa captured a third town - Necropolis, which turned out to be near the opponent's capital - through a portal. At the beginning of the third week, the opponent's main hero came out of this portal, captured the town, and started gathering skeletons near it. With four angels and an army from the castle (I bought almost all the growth - except harpies), I went to deal with the situation. The opponent gave up the Necropolis without a fight and holed up in his capital. I roamed his territory, captured a couple of Naga Banks, and he decided to give a decisive battle. The armies were approximately as follows: I had 140 Infernal Troglodytes, 4 angels, 9 Minotaurs, 6 Manticores, 21 Evil Eyes and 12 Medusas, all except the Troglodytes unupgraded; the opponent had - 21 Swordsmen, 15 Monks, 48 Crossbowmen, 130 Pikemen, 220 Skeletons, 3 Vampires and 12 Griffins (all except the Crossbowmen unupgraded); the attack/defense parameters were equal. I had Mass Slow, but I only had enough mana for two casts, and considering that the spell power was 2 - the opponent was slowed for 4 rounds. During that time, the angels ate all the shooters, and I lost the Manticores. After that, the armies clashed in melee, I had to retreat, although the opponent had almost no army left. At the beginning of the fourth week, I bought Harpies and the weekly growth, took the capital, destroying the opponent - he had neither money nor an army to resist.
