And it's all based on personal enthusiasm, as they don't receive ANYTHING for this activity, not even respect anymore (judging by the latest posts).
I'm not arguing that there are moderators who excellently fulfill all their duties, and there are those who do a poor job, but most moderators cope with their duties, albeit with some delays or shortcomings.
I recently had the opportunity to become a moderator, but I declined, as the level of moderation has always been satisfactory for me, both before and now. (other reasons are also mentioned in this thread)
P.S. Let's not forget that, apart from the user with the nickname "Creator," everyone else here has equal rights and equal responsibilities, and if someone takes on additional responsibilities, then we should first respect that person, and if someone doesn't like it, then before criticizing, do it yourself the way you think is right, or offer an alternative... IMHO, simply criticizing means "talking nonsense," going off-topic, and spamming.
Moderators like Alan and Kyle deserve respect, but where are they now?!?
