Essentially, nagas will never become riders. First, their natural habitat has made their lower limbs tails. Should we sew them on?
Second, the marine nature of nagas, their style, simply doesn't allow one to imagine them riding anything. And third, I'm sure a naga-siren moves faster than some hermit crab; it would look ridiculous.
It would be better to make warriors as cavalry, i.e., a breakthrough force. Myrmidons-Servants – heavy, fast lizards with pitchforks...

Here, I see the question is about where I got the idea that having naga riders makes sense. I'm posting a cute mermaid on a seahorse. I think I already posted this artwork in another thread, but whatever. As you can see, in theory, nagas, whose anatomy resembles that of mermaids, are capable of riding some kind of creature. I agree, I might have gone too far with the giant crabs, but riding a turtle is possible – an armored turtle the size of a cyclops, with a naga coiled around it, wielding some kind of weapon. I think it's quite realistic. Especially considering that you consider cavalry to be a "breakthrough force."
With the number of arms and the face, I think it's already clear – I wanted to draw it, but Agar got there first. And I also liked his idea about Asians.

P.S. In the end, it's not up to me to decide whether there will be riders or not... I just want to prove that it's not such an absurd idea
