What version of Heroes are you using, and what patch is installed? Try doing the opposite – borrow another disc and install the game from it. Also, try reinstalling the video card drivers.

P.S. I was playing with this disc on this computer with this amount of RAM six months ago. After reinstalling the system, the game doesn't launch.
Hmm, so you mean that after resetting the system, the game stopped launching, or that even reinstalling Windows doesn't help now?
