Sacrificial Pit – how to use it correctly?

I don’t want to sacrifice my own creatures, but if those are the conditions… That’s the whole point of my question: how to get a BENEFIT from using the sacrificial altar of the Dungeon faction when there are no enemy creatures around. The only option left is to sacrifice my own. But how to do it correctly?

There’s no benefit from not using it :D. We need to get a benefit from using it.
