The world didn't disappear either (Legends of the Ancients and other projects), and Heroes 3 is just a small part of this world. The race proposed by Alex will be connected to the Preserve (the authors of both races don't seem to mind), and there is already a crossover with the old universe. Therefore, it's not worth limiting oneself to just one Ashan.
