I don't use it because it slows down my computer; I just save manually before difficult battles, capturing castles, etc.

Same here! I save when it's really necessary, and maybe make a couple of intermediate saves, just in case it crashes or freezes. Saving is a useful thing, but it would be great if it loaded as quickly as in Heroes of Might and Magic III.
