May I interrupt your lively discussion and share my thoughts? I used to be strongly against Necropolis. But that was before. Then I started playing the campaign, and my opinion changed completely. I didn't expect it, but now I see them in a different light. They're not as evil as I thought, quite the opposite... In short, if I used to hate Necromancers, now I even feel a certain fondness for them... I'm surprised myself. The moral of the story is: don't judge a faction until you've played as it at least three times.
