Well, it's unlikely that such clever tactics were invented back then; it was the time when only the first skill wheel appeared. And regarding the BDP Warlock, it's still difficult; hoping for a good outcome can be more expensive. So, I don't think Armageddon is very effective in this case.

And regarding leveling up a BDP support unit through Mentorship, it's not that difficult. How does the main hero level up? Important skills that will help in development are chosen. If Logistics is given, we take Logistics. If Education is given, we take Education...
The support unit levels up differently. It's given a lot of levels right away. Therefore, one skill is maxed out, trying to get the desired one... Then (if not lucky) - another... And 2% skills are actually caught...
